Our investment solutions, tailored to the unique return and risk objectives of institutional clients in more than 60 countries, draw on a robust body of proprietary research and a collaborative culture that encourages independent thought and healthy debate. As a private partnership, we believe our ownership structure fosters a long-term view that aligns our perspectives with those of our clients.
We are transitioning to a hybrid work environment where both remote work and the office play a critical role. Our vision is a future where all employees are empowered to work flexibly to drive the best outcomes for our clients. Flexible work is a mindset and a core value. Our employees are encouraged to work remotely two days a week as a standard practice and will have flexibility in terms of working hours.
About the Role
We are seeking a Research Associate for the Early Career Investor Development (ECID) program to work closely with our established Global Equity Income and Quality Equities Portfolio Management Teams. The broader team includes both US and Global mandates. In this role, you will partner with two value oriented Global Equities Portfolio managers to provide alpha generating investment ideas and to closely follow stocks held. Specifically, you will be responsible for identifying European and Asian companies and securities with strong fundamentals, favorable ESG characteristics, that are resilient dividend paying companies at attractive valuations. While the ideal candidate will be a generalist, coverage focus will depend on the experience of the incoming Research Associate.

Essential Skills
We are looking for a globally-minded, self-directed, hard-working team player who is intellectually curious, and capable of managing the demands of multiple projects at one time. The following essential skills are required for the role:
  • Investment acumen and passion – a passion for and understanding of the global equity markets, and a well-articulated process for researching and evaluating companies. Demonstrated ability to identify security mispricing and valuation discrepancies, make investment recommendations, and communicate findings to Portfolio Managers. The RA must exhibit a fundamental, research oriented, bottom-up approach, supported by a developing investment philosophy and process and be able to implement ideas through an analytical framework.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills – the RA needs to be energized by being an individual contributor within a collaborative team and embracing the benefits of overlapping lines of company coverage and idea generation across the Firm. The RA will build strong trusting relationships internally with colleagues and externally with company management teams. The ability to take risk and challenge investment views is critical, as is the humility to admit mistakes and a desire to learn from others; the candidate must recognize the benefits of diverse perspectives. The ability to communicate (both verbally and in writing) action-oriented opinions clearly and with conviction, and contribute to an open investment dialogue, is important.
  • Team building and integrity. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of effective teamwork either within or outside of the financial services industry. A strong work ethic will be greatly valued.
  • Growth mindset – The flexibility and openness to continue learning, evolving and growing as an investor is required. The RA will have a broad market perspective and flexible investment mindset, allowing her/him to identify value creation opportunities across the cap spectrum.
Additional qualifications and characteristics include:
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience as an research associate on sell or buy-side, or in consulting.
  • Strong academic credentials; CFA and/or MBA are preferred, but not required.
THE ECID PROGRAM
The ECID program develops and identifies exceptional Early Career Investors (ECIs) to help build our pipeline of talented investors. The goal of the program is to support the firm’s mission of superior investment performance. ECID participants will play a critical role in assisting experienced analysts and portfolio managers in conducting research and implementing their investment process.
