Job Role Summary

This position is responsible for participating in departmental education programs; overseeing surveys; baiting premises for rodents. Train bureau personnel in Rodent Control techniques, conduct educational programs, and deal with the community and other agencies.

Essential Duties

Responsibility 1: 15%

  • Plan health education programs; monitor goals and objectives. Implements health and education programs.


Responsibility 2: 15%

  • Consult with community groups to develop environmental health education. Present programs to schools and community organizations.


Responsibility 3: 15%

  • Conduct training of department and bureau personnel; review, design, and organize training material, printed info, audiovisual aids, etc.


Responsibility 4: 5%

  • Monitor rodent bait inventory and keep track of stock


Responsibility 5: 15%

  • Conduct rodent control surveys in designated areas; keep records; meet goals and objectives


Responsibility 6: 25%

  • Direct and assist Rodent Control personal in all duties (baiting surveying, etc.); carry out assignments of supervisor and administrator.


Responsibility 7: 10%

  • Contact schools and block clubs by letter, phone, e-mail, and personal contact, to schedule Rodent Control presentations in the community.


Responsibility 8:

  • Participate in public health emergency preparedness exercises and in the response to public health emergencies, as directed
  • Participate in a minimum of two HOPE events totaling a minimum of eight (8) hours annually
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1 to 3 years of previous experience
