Responsibilities and Requirements
- Electrical/Instrumentation & Controls (PLC/DCS) design experience
- Hands on wiring and instrument troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient in the use of small hand tools and multi-meters.
- Experience with PLC installations
- Proficient at AutoCAD.
- Proficient with Excel and Word
- Development of design drawings for instrumentation wiring and panel layouts.
- Assist with bill of material development relating to panel devices.
- Instrument Junction Box drawing layouts.
- Instrument Loop Wiring Diagrams.
- Assist with development of cable schedules.
- P&ID diagram development.
- Develop instrument installation details and instrument locations drawings.
- Coordinates details and miscellaneous design criteria with engineering disciplines.
- Able to support panel assembly personnel with parts selection and design changes.
- Understand P&ID drawings and how they relate to project instrument requirements.
- Understand panel assembly practices to help panel assemblers conform to project wiring requirements.
- Capable of reviewing and interpreting submittal drawings from vendors.
- Ability to read and understand customer specifications and relate them to control panel requirements.
- Ability to estimate designer hours to assist with proposal development.
- Ability to organize projects and manage deadlines.
- Strong attention to design detail, with regards to specifications, codes and other regulatory standards.
- Able to select panel devices based on project and industry requirements.
- Competent producing electrical PLC I/O drawings for Allen Bradley and Siemens.
- A strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry design standards such as ISA & NFPA.
- Field work required to support commissioning with up to 5% travel domestic and international.
- Hands on wiring and instrument troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient in the use of small hand tools and multi-meters.
- Must work and interact well with others.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferences
- Experience with PLC installations and programming is a plus.
- Petrochemical refinery and chemical industry experience.
- Plant startup experience is desired.
- Experience with Rockwell or Siemens PLC hardware.
- Producing interlock logic diagrams using Visio is a plus.
- Producing cause and effect charts using Excel is a plus.
- Able to produce graphic displays for HMI panels a plus.
- Development of IO lists, instrument lists is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $104,806.13 - $128,089.11 per year
