Electrical Engineer Custom Solutions

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for engineering design in our Turnkey division. This is a hands-on position supporting customer specific applications and custom solutions. Projects are taken from the conceptual stage to fully integrated functionality, which includes design schematics, instructions, part procurement and installation, along with testing of the finished solution.

The requirements for this position are as follows:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

EXPERIENCE:

3-7 years of experience. Fanuc CNC/PMC, PLC & HMI strongly preferred. Experience with Dual Check Safety circuits. Experience with PLC's such as Click (programming ladder logic). Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required. Strong organizational skills and communication skills are required. Ability to work efficiently individually and with a team of design and project engineers required. Multi-Tasking (working on multiple projects) required. CNC Programming and PLC Software Experience is a plus.

SPECIFIC TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

Advanced knowledge of electrical / electronic systems as well as Electrical Engineering design theory and practices.

Advanced programming of PLC, HMI, CNC, motion control systems robotics, and computer systems such as RSLogix 5K / 500, G-Code, PSPICE, and C.

Technical understanding of electro-mechanics with ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Auto CAD Electrical, and Autodesk Inventor.

Experience with I/O, Motion Control, Motors, Drives and Encoder feedback systems and sensors.

LOCATION: Elmira, NY

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Electrical Design for new and existing products.

Ability to understand and alter software.

Design interfaces for new equipment, monitor controls and electrical component selection.

Integration of interfaces to machine tools.

Work with engineering team to improve product design and processes.

Develop, test, and evaluate new products.

Review design changes and verify the changes do not adversely affect compatibility.

Maintain documents and databases with team support.

Installation of components.

Provide engineering support to customers, suppliers, and sales teams for prospective projects or issues with quality or design.

This position does not support visa sponsorship.

Travel may be required for some customer projects.
