Position Summary

DRS Network & Imaging Systems in Cypress, CA is part of the Electro-Optical and Infrared Systems Group of Leonardo DRS and has over 30 years of experience in designing and developing electro-optical/infrared systems for surveillance and targeting applications. We are seeking a Electrical Engineer to join the company in the development of strategic space and weather systems.

Basic Qualifications and Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
• 0-2+ years' experience working in Electrical Engineering with emphasis or strong interest in analog circuit analysis and design
• Experience with electronics design tools such as schematic capture, SPICE, etc.
• Experience or familiarity with low noise analog circuit design and analysis
• Familiarity with lab test equipment
• Understanding and knowledge of some of the following: Op-Amp, ADC, DAC, power supply design are a plus
• Ability to work and collaborate effectively in a team as well as independently under supervision
• Action-oriented and eager to embrace new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm
• Ability to obtain and retain a security clearance is required

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Involved with the design, development, modification and analysis of various analog circuits. Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems and makes modifications as needed. Compile, evaluate and document design and test data.
• Support and participate in technical activity
• Provide regular reporting of progress and status
• Responsible for completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements
• Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
• Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
• Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
• Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings

Working Conditions

Normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work and local travel.
