Job purpose
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Embedded Software Staff Engineer. The Embedded Software Staff Engineer will be an individual with a solid electrical hardware and software background that can apply their skills within our High-performance global development team to implement production programming solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop embedded CAN communications engines
- Develop embedded FLASH programming engines
- Develop embedded HSM programming engines
- Develop Windows software to program Inverter or ECU
- Implement cost saving initiatives to reduce programming time
- Support other software development engineers using embedded software
What we’re looking for
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred
- Ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience; however, preference will be given to those with 10+ years of experience
- Embedded software using “C”
- Infineon microprocessor
- Diab compiler
- WindRiver compiler
- Lauterbach debugger
- FLASH memory programming
- Serial EEPROM memory programming
- Embedded HSM programming
- Candidates that possess the following Experience in addition to the above will take priority
- Experience working with and developing DLL’s
- TCPIP client / server
- Understanding of Cybersecurity concepts
- Work with a BorgWarner standard PXI system built on TestStand, LabView, and LabWindows CVI
- Use TestStand and Switch Executive to build an automated functional test
- Create test mechanization
- Write SOW to purchase fixtures, load box, and testers
- Collaborate with systems and electrical design engineers to define test requirements, product test software, and test loads
- Debug test software and hardware systems
- Implement Six Sigma test limits
- Conduct peer reviews of test plan
- Install test setup in manufacturing plant on time
- Complete test requirements documentation
- Work with team to review and add tests for functional safety
- Subject matter expert with the ability to coach, mentor and train others
