The Strategic Engagement Senior Manager will play a key role to support the acceleration of AGCO’s development of critical capabilities and competencies in specific strategic areas of: Information Management and Analytics, Ag Technology, Environmental & Alternative Fuel Source, and Post Harvest & Livestock Farming. This position will connect AGCO’s business needs, and industry / market perspective to help identify investment opportunities in the areas of corporate venture funds, start-up company fundings and incubator / accelerator opportunities that will include specific universities. This position will drive a consistent approach across the Enterprise through managing and enabling reporting on performance, investment requests and approval to the internal Leadership Advisory Committee and to the appropriate internal leadership areas in AGCO. This role is part of the Precision Ag & Digital (PA&D) organization playing a lead role to support PA&D and a coordination role to help facilitate the broader AGCO enterprise, specifically Grain and Protein and AGCO sustainability efforts / group. This role will be involved in the project leadership of mergers and acquisitions and other related tasks for PA&D.

What you will do:

• Responsible to implement a Corporate Venture Fund (CVF) process and related governance structure playbook. Will be responsible as the point of contact and for the ongoing management of CVF funnel/process.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all AGCO related CVF investment considerations, equity start-up investments and incubation efforts to manage the process and help facilitate and ensure process recommendations.
• Role provides the coordination and communication across the assigned points of contact within AGCO along with aiding in the evaluation process within AGCO (specific steps / process will be defined from the CVF playbook creation and other AGCO corporate governance requirements).
• For PA&D is the primary contact for day-to-day connection for Venture Fund Investments, startups and incubator programs unless assigned / transitioned to other functional roles / leaders.
• Build relationships with targeted universities for investment opportunities through the university's accelerator and incubator programs.
• At times can play the conduit for the communication and process between specific universities and PA&D leadership for project identification and coordination.
• Works across the Enterprise to understand and identify resource capabilities and associated needs both short term and long term.
• With having the responsibility of managing the CVF process will act as a contact for incubator, startup and venture capital investment opportunities to help guide these companies to the right points of contact within PA&D and through the evaluation process within AGCO (specific steps / process will be defined from the CVF playbook).
• Lead the coordination across relevant PA&D departments to create the business case (i.e., investment thesis, financials, and recommendation) for investments associated with CVF opportunities.
• Will coordinate the due diligence process for PA&D acquisitions, working across the appropriate PA&D and Corporate functions.

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or similar field
• Strong business acumen and financial analysis
• Ability to create impact power point presentation that articulate the investment thesis and rationale of investments.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities at once.
• Measuring financial returns, ability to identify, create and manage performance metrics for start-up companies, negotiation of investment opportunities (terms, amount and control provisions), and ability to screen investment opportunities to identify highest priorities that align to AGCO strategic initiatives.

Travel Required:

• Estimated travel to be 25% or more
