Requisition 35016: Equipment Operator - Wheelersburg, OH
Primary Purpose:
Operate heavy off-track equipment and roadway machinery.
Principal Duties:
- Operate heavy mobile equipment such as 992 wheel loader, D10 dozer, excavator, road grader, skidsteer and backhoe.
- Operate stationary equipment such as rotary rail car dumper, train car load-out, barge load-out.
- Able to use hand tools such as a shovel, water hose, pick and sledge hammer.
- Participate in safety meetings.
- Wear all appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Climb ladders and steps to various heights.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School/GED
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Capable of lifting and carrying a minimum of 75 pounds.
- Heavy equipment experience is a plus but not required.
- Capable of working in inclement weather and/or conditions.
- Capable of working on or about barges on water.
- Capable of working unsupervised at times.
- Capable of working nights and weekends.
Skills and Abilities:
- Interact effectively as a crew member.
- Understand and follow verbal and visual communications.
- Understand and respond to audible and visual signals and warnings.
- Quickly learn and perform job duties.
- Recognize, avoid, and report potential hazards.
