The Estimator (Civil Engineering, Construction)

This position is an office based, solutions-driven role responsible for estimating the full scope of municipal and stormwater infrastructure projects as well as negotiating the pricing and changes in the scope and scale of work. You will work in tandem with Project Management to ensure adequate project execution and completion. Duties:

• Prepare technical estimates for stormwater infrastructure rehabilitations and municipal stormwater repair and remediation projects
• Perform site visits as required by internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure that bid deadlines and customer presentation requirements are met while proactively identifying and suggesting solutions
• Develop budgets by identifying and projecting all relevant costs
• Review design documents and complete an accurate quantity take-off for assigned scopes of work
• Review design documents and identify scope items with cost implications
• Maintain and update master pricing sheet and cost keys
• Analyze data and track work orders in Microsoft Dynamics and client portals
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements / Knowledge and Experience:

• 10+ years’ experience in stormwater management, sediment & erosion control, construction or other environmental services preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related stormwater discipline preferred
• Strong business acumen with motivation to drive business requirements
• Experience projecting costs for restorative repair projects
• Aptitude for drafting technical persuasive proposals using detailed descriptions and site photographs
• Ability to interpret and analyze site and drainage plans Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe, Excel and other computer programs
• Strong customer service and negotiating skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Coordinating and managing subcontractors and internal repair crews
• Familiarity with construction terminology
• OSHA Standard and other site safety practices

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year
