BASIC FUNCTION:

Prepares cost estimates by analyzing proposals and their requirements.

GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Quoting between 35 and 70 estimates on a weekly basis.
• Assists Sales with costing quotes in order to improve profitability requests.
• Assist Sales staff in defining solutions for customer application requests.
• Step-by-step breakdown of the costs for materials estimates and labor time estimates for proper cost analysis.
• Analyze drawings and documentation in order to determine costs. Quote customer’s samples.
• Assists customer service by calling and working on solutions directly with the distributor or end user.
• Maintains effective relationships between the Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing departments in order to streamline the quote process.
• Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the company products, functions, features and benefits.
• Provide knowledge and training on products to sales staff.
• Ability to multitask and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
• Produces product drawings for parts, assemblies, instruction manuals and price lists. Uses accepted drawing standards as guidelines. May be responsible for some basic design elements.
• Self-checks own work for completeness, accuracy, meeting standards, fits and function.
• Performs item file work and related status reports on computer as assigned.
• Creates documents for Department using various software. Maintains assigned CAD systems files along convey the correct information.
• Develops drafting goals for prospective projects with Engineering and other departments to ensure the drawings convey the correct information.
• Maintains thorough knowledge of CAD software developments and SolidWorks 3D.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATION:

• Bachelor of Science degree, preferred or two year certificate in related field with at least five or more years of experience.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Proficiency using SolidWorks CAD software required. Experience with AutoCAD is desirable.
• Prior drafting job experience is preferred including experience making preliminary and finished drawings.
• DriveWorks experience a plus.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude.
• Conduct all interactions with customers,(internal and external), vendors, field sales representatives, co-workers, employees and supervisors in a focused, positive, courteous and respectful manner.
• Regular attendance is an essential element of the job.
• Participate in Sales Department meetings as requested.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to sit for 7+ hours per day.
• Occasional bending, squatting and lifting up to 20 pounds; attention to detail (visual acuity).

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Conduct all interactions with customers (internal and external), vendors, field sales representatives, co-workers, and supervisors in a focused, positive, courteous and respectful manner.
