Available position requires the ability to work in a team-oriented environment, in addition to working injury free and following work place/plant safety practices and procedures. Applicants must be available to work rotating shifts (including holidays).
Pre-employment testing includes controlled substances, physical, background check.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the safe production of extrusion profiles that meet or exceed VEKA standards in quality and output levels in a timely manner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have experience in industrial machine operation, and ability to set process parameters.
Judgment, communication (oral & written), courage to act, and work well under pressure.
Mechanical ability and knowledge of basic tools.
Drive, initiative, flexibility, accuracy and timeliness.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Responsible for adhering to all Safety Policies & Procedures.

• Operate extruders to produce profiles that meet established quality standards.

• Monitor Profile while running and make process adjustments as necessary to maintain product quality.

• Responsible for entering dimensional and attribute checks into internal computer database throughout the shift at required intervals on time. This includes the use of calipers, tape measure, scales, and other tools.

• Responsible for notifying Lead Tech of the correct number of scrap pieces that were made during the shift.

• Proper segregation of scrap pieces. Ensuring they are stacked evenly.

• Maintain proper housekeeping of extrusion lines.

• Informing Lead Tech of any problems that may affect profile quality, safety or extruder operations throughout the entire shift.

• Responsible for the return tooling & accessories to proper location in good operation condition. Non-operational equipment must be brought to Lead Tech’s attention.

• Assist Material Handler in banding, sealing, making racks and packaging when needed.

• All other duties as assigned by Lead Tech.

Rate of pay will vary based on experience.
