Job description
Title: Assistant Facilities Manager
The Assistant Facilities Manager shall be responsible for assisting the Facilities Manager in the overall maintenance of the facilities and equipment. Assistant Facilities Manager shall also include directing the maintenance workforce and working with contractors. The duties shall include but not be limited to the following:
Supports and back up the Facilities Manager when off or unavailable.- Directs the maintenance workforce as needed.
- Works with contractors, including plumbing, electrical and landscaping.
- Processing of all maintenance work orders.
- Managing stock inventory of facilities supplies and ordering non-stock inventory as needed.
- Purchasing maintenance related items as needed.
- Maintains inventory of supplies; reorders as needed.
- Oversees scheduling and execution of preventative maintenance program.
- Drafts and implements preventive maintenance schedules for buildings and equipment.
- Creating preventative maintenance lists with new assets/equipment.
- Assisting maintenance technicians with part sourcing.
- Maintaining preferred vendors.
- Tracking downtime issues dealing with maintenance related items.
- Picking up parts from local suppliers when needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager
Qualifications and Requirements:
Associates Degree in a related field of study or equivalent experience in maintenance or Facilities management.- Accept direction and projects from Facilities Manager.
- CSP or ASP certification; OSHA 10-hour certification; waste handling training.
- Maintain cooperative and open communication with all personnel and departments. Ability to work with supervision, as part of a team and/or independently.
- Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Poses the ability to interpret a variety of instructions that are furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Exceptional organization skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbal and written. Strong interpersonal skills are a must.
- Self-motivated.
- Ability to recognize continuous improvement opportunities.
- Proficient with computers; Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Able to perform duties in an ever-changing fast paced environment.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Facilities Manager
