Salary: Expected base pay rate for this role will be between $74,324 and $80,000+ USD per year at the commencement of employment.
However, if hired, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis (pay rates may vary) and is only one part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonuses and other IMAX sponsored benefit programs.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
The Workplace Facilities Specialist coordinates operations and maintenance activities in the building. This involves:
- Responsible for preserving the good condition of the building infrastructure and ensuring that facilities are safe and well-maintained;
- Inspect facility to determine the need for repairs or renovations;
- Responding to facility related inquiries and issues raised by building occupants, anticipating requirements, and resolving issues;
- Coordinate service and supply vendors;
- Responsible for ordering and initiating job tickets;
- Plan and coordinate all installations (coffee/vending machines, plumbing, electrical needs; office equipment such as employee workstations;
- Responds to after-hours calls;
- Has an important role related to fire and life safety and emergency response;
- Makes spending commitments through the ordering of office and building maintenance supplies such as PPE, hardware, light bulbs; and stocking on site pantries and coffee stations;
- Initiates purchase orders and invoices for approval in Concur invoice management system;
- Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
In addition to regular duties, this role may manage projects, typically with narrow scope working with general contractor, or single vendors. Example: furniture installations, building repairs, minor construction, etc. They’ll also be project team members on larger projects, typically representing the impacts of projects on the ongoing operations of the building.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Knowledge sufficient to troubleshoot building issues, work with specialty vendors to maintain equipment and resolve issues; know when to call in 3rd parties and who to call
- Experience with facility service agreements including key agreement terms, insurance requirements, SLAs, administration, and monitoring, etc.
- Ability to understand cost center impacts, to manage expenditures with consideration to overall business priorities
- Understanding of purchase orders and invoicing; ability to review invoices to compare to the agreement and to initiate payment of invoices through the invoice processing system
- Promote, demonstrate, and encourage positivity and participation in the workplace experience
- Maintain culture of learning; address mistakes not as failures but as opportunities to learn through corrective actions
- Familiarity with building system including BAS, Security, HVAC, Electrical, etc.
- Familiarity with building operating systems sufficient to coordinate regular maintenance and ensure continued operations working with 3rd party specialist vendors
- Ability to assist in design and execution of exercises to test the emergency management and business continuity plans
- Ability to calmly take the lead in the event of a building incident or emergency response
- Deliver exceptional customer service for our staff and guests
