The Department of Educational Policy and Leadership in the College of Education at Marquette University is hiring a full-time, 9-month (with potential stipend for summer work), non-tenure track, open rank clinical faculty member to join a dynamic group of faculty and students and work primarily with graduate programs. We are especially seeking a scholar-practitioner with experience supporting graduate students in completing dissertation work and to teach graduate classes in educational leadership, including courses leading to superintendent certification.

Duties and Responsibilities

The non-tenure track, clinical position will teach and advise students, advise or serve on doctoral committees of students conducting research in secondary or postsecondary education, and engage in service activities across the University. The appointment time allocation is 75% teaching (including dissertation advising) (6 courses throughout the year) and 25% administration. The successful candidate will have full responsibility for the courses, including course and syllabus preparation, grading exams and papers. Must maintain a minimum of three office hours per week.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate in K-12 education or related field
- Experience as a K12 principal, director of instruction, and/or superintendent
- Experience teaching graduate and doctoral students in postsecondary education
- Experience chairing dissertation work
- Licensure as a principal, director of instruction, and/or superintendent
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching online in synchronous and asynchronous formats
- Graduate teaching experience in K-12 leadership, instructional leadership, finance, and/or school law
- Knowledge of and experience in K12 and/or postsecondary Catholic education
