Legal Aid of Western Missouri seeks a full-time staff attorney to provide legal counsel and court-room advocacy on behalf of women and children who are survivors of domestic violence at our Joplin, Missouri office. The Joplin office supports 6 counties.

This position is at at Joplin office and will have the opportunity to work remote few days of the week after completing probationary period.

Legal Aid of Western Missouri provides free legal assistance in civil matters to low-income persons.

Some of the duties of this position include:

• Representing clients seeking domestic violence orders of protection and related domestic cases including Custody and Dissolution of Marriage actions.
• Conduct outreach with local domestic violence shelters and provide presentations to various community groups in our service area.
• Trial preparation and in-court appearances

Requirements:

• Active Missouri Bar license
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Desire and commitment to assist in the delivery of high-quality legal assistance
• Ability to speak a second language, preferred, but not required.
