Job Title: Farm Associate

Location: Angier, NC

Duration: 12+ months (Possible Temp to perm)

Shift Timing: 6:30 am – 3:00 pm Monday – Friday

30 and 90-Days Retention Bonus (USD)500

Duties:

URGENT NEED

• Under the direction of the Manager, the employee will perform or assist in the performance of all duties involved in the manufacture of bursal harvest material., however, this position may require working weekends along with flexible shift hours when needed.
• Oversees the care of birds (feed, water, air).
• Reporting of daily observations of birds.
• Cleaning of bird cages, houses, harvest rooms, etc.
• Ensures compliance with client’s Animal Welfare guidelines.
• Responsible for performing the production of bursal tissue for harvest.
• Prior to harvest, employee must necropsy and sample bursal tissues to confirm SPF status of birds.
• During harvest, employee must determine if bursal tissue is atrophied and collect.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and carry 10ft-40ft.
• Ensures that he/she and all site personnel and/or visitors follow approved strict biosecurity practices to protect the SPF status of chicken flocks.
• Multiple head-to-toe, full body (hair included) showers DAILY are required.
• Reporting of any equipment failure. All areas are maintained and work area clean and orderly.
• Ensures that all equipment is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with documented procedures and inspects before use to ensure that it has been properly cleaned and ready for the prescribed use.
• Maintains accurate and timely manufacturing records which include all paperwork and files. Can complete all calculations required within the manufacturing record.
• Performs, as assigned, miscellaneous incidental duties and temporary jobs within the facility or at the Cocci Lab or Cobb Farm.
• Position may require the employee to work flexible work hours to ensure standard business operations and to handle departmental emergency situations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Avian Biosecurity Policy
• Follow all SOPs, Guidelines, Specs, etc. along with all federal, state, local and company regulations.It is the responsibility of all client’s Animal Health employees to take necessary steps to avoid contact with the avian species in general. This includes, but is not limited to, commercial poultry, yard chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, wild birds and pet birds. Should contact occur, precautions must be taken prior to entering a critical building or location. Anyone coming into contact with the avian species should not enter into a critical building or location for 72 hours unless they have showered, changed clothes and shoes.
