The primary role of a successful Field Engineer is the timely delivery of visualization solutions that include both hardware and software configuration, installation, and integration. Additionally, this position requires project management skills to coordinate Hitachi Employees, Hitachi affiliates and Hitachi partners through the life cycle of a project from equipment procurement through physical installation, system integration, end user training and project signoff. The Field Engineer will also work collaboratively with the direct sales and pre-sales team to provide support for all technical aspects of the sales cycle to assist in the development of a complete Bill of Material and Scope of Work. Job requirements include but are not limited to the following activities: perform site survey to develop a wireless and wired infrastructure network infrastructure to support the solution, identify power requirements, develop installation scope of work documentation, ability to demo solutions to customers, equipment configuration (cameras, switches, radios, video management servers, utility servers) and end users training.

Required Capabilities:

• Strong ability in network design and configuration
• Strong experience with Linux operating systems
• Strong experience with Microsoft operating systems
• Experience with virtual server environments
• Experience with basic scripting languages
• Excellent customer facing and presentation skills
• Excellent organization and project management skills
• High level of energy, enthusiasm, persistence, discipline and a strong desire to succeed
• Enthusiasm to learn new technologies including but not limited to Video & IoT Sensor Intelligence
• Ability to 25% - 50% travel
