Finance Manager - Supply Chain


Central Home Brands, a growing Bingham Farms, Michigan based leading manufacturer and distributor of Pet Beds and Patio and Outdoor Lifestyle products to the leading retailers in the USA and Canada, has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager – Supply Chain to be based in the corporate headquarters.

Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Manager – Supply Chain is responsible for proposing new processes and documentation to align with the Corporate direction including financial reporting and costing. Qualified candidates possess exceptional communication skills, strong problem solving skills and attention to detail enabling them to resolve problems independently with extensive details to documentation on procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of plant costing, both fixed and variable, and build analysis and reporting in partnership with corporate supply chain finance
  • Support Net Productivity analysis, including gross project benefits and headwinds
  • Oversee annual physical inventory audits, lead the inventory audit process for all Supply Chain warehouses, and ensure warehouses are compliant with corporate financial accounting policies
  • Manage the inventory audit process with internal and external audit
  • Assist in the SAP migration/building tools for tracking costs against absorption, including shell labor, freight, duties/tariffs, and build forecasts and accruals
  • Assist in preparation of year-end cost roll
  • Build Purchase Price Variance reporting
  • Drive overall FY24 planning/budgeting process for finance
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analyses as requested by Logistics/Supply Chain and Corporate Finance
  • Financial support and/or review of all Plant CARs
  • Assist in the monthly close process, including drafting/review of journal entries
  • Continually enhance the general control environment
  • Special Projects as assigned

Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5 + years of relevant work experience
  • CPA strongly preferred; GAAP accounting knowledge required
  • Computer literacy with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; prior experience with SAP is extremely helpful
  • Proven experience working with cross functional teams
  • Leadership skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and presentation skills
  • Experience in plant costing, inventory management, and product costing is required
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, practices, and procedures
  • Experience working with SAP or other financial systems
  • Experience managing audits and physical inventory counts
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
