Overview:
The Financial Analyst is responsible for performing in-depth research, analysis, and interpretive insights of financial data to recommend quality improvements to current processes, forecast alignment of business objectives with economic/financial environments, and support strategic planning and business opportunities. They perform financial analysis on cash flow, operating results, and business plans to determine rates of return, capital/cash flow requirements, etc.
The Financial Analyst works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. They exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and interpret financial concepts for financial planning and control.
  • Prepare forecasts and analysis on industry and general economic trends.
  • Gather, analyze, prepare, and summarize recommendations for financial plans, trended future requirements, operating forecasts, etc.
  • Perform in-depth economic research and studies in the areas of rate of return, depreciation, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance and impact of governmental requirements.
  • Monitor and provide monthly revenue and/or expense analyses on projects/problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of tangible and intangible variables.
  • Develop ad-hoc and special reports summarizing project status/results, presentations to Senior Management, and recommendations impacting business decisions.
  • Contribute to business case development and analysis for the organization or functional business areas.
  • Perform technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. Provide accurate and timely reports for performance monitoring.
  • Apply organizational policy and procedure to resolve a variety of problems.
  • Government Financial Analyst: Prepare monthly invoices and EAC/ETC reports.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Accounting, Finance, Business, or other related field of study) with minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Working knowledge of various government contract types (CPFF, T&M, FFP) is required
  • Experience with MS AX or Unanet desirable
