Position Summary:

The Controller is responsible for managing the Accounting Department in all accounting functions for CareSouth Carolina and related operations. Equally important is the responsibility of assisting all of management in the prevention and detection of any unethical or illegal behavior or any company policy violations that becomes apparent in the performance of the accounting and administrative duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Strategic Perspective – will apply knowledge and techniques of financial management to the planning, operating and monitoring of financial functions within the context of the organization’s strategic plan and long-term goals
• Responsible for the review and analysis of business cases to determine feasibility
• Responsible for budget variance analysis
• Assist the CFO in the management of accounting staff and monitoring of assigned work
• Assist with billing department projects
• Grant management oversight
• General ledger closing procedures (data input, reconciliations, etc.)
• Coordinate and assist in preparation of GAAP and grant budgets
• Assist CFO with the preparation of Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports at FYE
• Assist in preparation of UDS Report
• Assist the CFO with monitoring of accounts payable, procurement, and payroll processes
• Assist with year-end physical inventories, as needed
• Communicate any unethical, illegal or policy violations to the Chief Financial Officer
• Other duties as assigned by management

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports
• Ability to apply complex accounting functions
• Ability to work independently and handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Management/supervisory experience required
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral required
• Integrity, with ethical code of conduct, regarding confidentially of company sensitive and financial information

Required Education and Experience:

• BS Degree in Accounting
• Microsoft Office
• 3-5 year’s controller or finance director experience
• Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center preferred

Proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 must be presented prior to beginning work with CareSouth Carolina. Full vaccination is receipt of two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. COVID vaccine boosters are encouraged but not required.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
