As a primary contact for Safeway customers, the Floral Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. The Floral Clerk , with the use of a computer, is responsible for compiling online orders for customers. Floral Clerk provides fast, friendly, personalized customer service in the floral department. Maintains and waters floral department products. Assists customers with special orders.

JOB DUTIES: Safeway Floral clerk employees are generally responsible for completing the following job duties: 1. Provide customer service as currently defined by the employer within the scope of the position and within company policy. 2. Ensures product freshness and selections. 3. Assists customers by making product suggestions and engages in suggestive selling. Makes intercom announcements 4. Verify order for accuracy. 5. Implements correct product preparation techniques. 6. Push flower filled cart (12 items per bin or lesser larger items 6 bins per cart) to the back room area to be staged on to hand trucks. 7. Performs receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying orders against invoice, inspecting quality, reporting shortage, stocking and rotating product. 8. Takes special orders from customers by telephone or in person 9. Maintain cleanliness of sore and back room area. 10. Other duties as assigned.

JOB RELATED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Ability to follow company customer service procedures. Demonstrated prior customer service skills or related experience. 2. Ability to interact with customers and co-workers. 3. Ability to understand and read, and follow directions. 4. Has to be 18 years old and above.

Use of near vision to read labels, tags, process orders and check hand held computer screen. Hearing: To receive instructions and information from manager and other employees, to interact with customers. Speech: Used to provide service to customers, provide information to other employees and use the telephone/intercom. Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
