Appalachian Underwriters, Inc is seeking a General Liability Claims Adjuster to join our US Administrator Claims division. We are a growing TPA who wants to add experience GL Adjusters to our team. This is a W-2 position. You will investigate, analyze, and determine the extent of liability in various claims. 2-weeks of training in our Oak Ridge, TN headquarters will be required.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Correspond and interview with medical specialists, agents, witnesses, or claimants to compile information.

· Take accurate and detailed statements from all involved parties.

· Calculate and approve payment of claims within a certain monetary limit.

· Negotiate and settle property losses with little oversight.

· Coordinate with legal counsel in handling cases correctly.

Knowledge/Skills:

· 3 to 5 years’ experience in General Liability claims adjusting is required.

· Adjuster License.

· Advanced skills with MS Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

· Strong negotiation skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Deadline and detail oriented.

· Should be knowledgeable in GL Laws in various states.

Education:

· High school diploma or GED required.

· Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Compensation:

· $50,000 - $70,000 annually.
