EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED preferred and one (1) year of experience related to the industry or the combination of three (3) years’ experience

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

• Self-motivated, self-disciplined, and a willingness to learn new tasks and procedures where necessary
• Detail oriented, organized and a high degree of accuracy
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Moves freight, stock, or other materials and information storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors or other equipment.
• Type of cargo before loading and unloading.
• Attaches identification labels to containers or mark them with identifying information.
• Receives and reads work orders or receives oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
• In locations such as transit sheds or in holds of cargo ships the battery as directed, using pallets or cargo boards.
• The re-packaging and product inspection.
• Records numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets. Checks the electric pallet jack as daily maintenance checklist.
• Porta safety equipment required for the job.
• Performs inspection requirements for certification as C-TPAT and AIB units to support load inspection checklist transport and taking photographic unit.
• Attends at all times to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), cleaning and sanitation policies, and operational methods, in addition to meeting the HACCP standards.
• Installs protective devices, such as reinforcement, padding or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
• Directs suppliers and places containers so they can be loaded.
• Attaches slings, hooks or other devices to lift cargo and guide loads.
• Maintains equipment storage areas to ensure the protection of such inventory.
• Performs general cleaning by area in and out of warehouse work

Pay: From $12.84 per hour
