We are looking for Geotechnical Drillers to perform geotechnical drilling using advanced practices of geotechnical drilling. This important role will be based out of our office in New Cumberland, PA. The position is physically demanding. You will need to be able to lift 70+ pounds on a regular basis, enjoy traveling and working outdoors.
Schedule:
Day shift, Monday through Friday, Some night shifts required, Overtime eligible, Frequent travel and overnight stays
Salary Range:
$22.00 to $25.00 hourly depending upon experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate drilling activities with the Geotechnical Drilling Foreman.
- Verify drilling quantities on a daily basis.
- Provide input to the Geotechnical Drilling Manager regarding maintenance of drill rigs and equipment.
- Review logs and data for accuracy and in accordance with specifications.
- Initiate procedures and processes to increase drilling efficiencies.
- Review and conform to established schedules and budgets for each project.
- Discuss budget shortfalls with Geotechnical Drilling Foreman prior to performing additional or extra drilling work.
- Comply with daily/weekly Tailgate Safety Plan, as provided by the Geotechnical Drilling Foreman.
- Remain familiar with current industry and governmental specifications and standards affecting the projects. Provide advice on proper standards and regulations and the development of policies, strategies, and codes of practice for geotechnical drilling.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the Geotechnical Drilling department.
- Supervise, train, and assist driller helpers.
- Frequent travel and overnight stays are required.
- Compose required Driller’s Logs.
- Attend client meetings on an as-needed basis.
- Assist in filling the staffing needs of the department.
- Understand and be able to use the Company and/or BST system and filing system.
- Attend other company or departmental assignments and meetings, as requested.
- Maintain all applicable certifications, such as affiliation membership with the National Drillers Association and AMTRAK and SEPTA site-safety.
- Maintenance/organization of vehicle tracking paperwork and/or digital files.
- Use appropriate public relations when dealing with co-workers, clients, observers, and the public.
- Be dependable / consistent with attendance and follow Company policies and protocols.
