Job Duties

Manages timely entry of purchase orders and receipts to achieve planned sales goals and ensures accuracy and integrity of merchandising and inventory data.

Reviews open purchase orders and corrects misshipments and enters receipts data.

Secures and maintains integrity of sales data, vendor files, open and complete purchase orders, etc. for audit purposes.

Ensures vendor invoices are paid in timely manner.

Provides accurate sales and inventory data to finance monthly and upon request.

Manages inventory levels and records according to established merchandising plans and sales goals.

Ensures daily sales are rung with strict adherence to established financial policies and procedures.

Analyzes sales and stock performance weekly and monthly to ensure lowest ordering and processing costs, adequate inventory levels and appropriate assortments.

Coordinates quarterly physical inventory within time frames established by finance and ensures necessary adjustments are made to inventory records.

Analyzes weekly and monthly merchandising information to control stock levels in relation to planned sales goals, markdowns, stock turn and gross profit.

Maintains adequate inventory and assortment of basic stock items in relation to customer demand, store space, and total inventory.

Assists retail manager and director in creating and implementing buying strategies to support sales and profitability goals, store philosophies and store image.

Evaluates and develops product mix and merchandising strategies using established policies concerning price, quality, depth and breadth of assortment, brand offerings, and exclusivity.

Evaluates new merchandise by interpreting consumer demand, special promotions, and testing new lines.

Utilizes design and decor elements such as fixtures, lighting and overall design which support stores image and merchandising concepts. Coordinates sales and promotions with retail manager.

Ensures special attention is given to holiday themes and special hospital events. Monitors and ensures quality of services offered such as gift wrapping, balloon bouquets, gift baskets, and cake and meal orders.

Ensures sales area is free of boxes, trash, dust, soils, and customer refuse. Ensures orderly arrangement of merchandise, caseline interiors and all storage locations.

Ensures damaged fixtures, cabinetry, and merchandise is promptly repaired or replaced. Utilizes customer service skills to contribute toward achievement of established merchandising plans and sales goals.

Promotes excellent customer service by ensuring subordinates are friendly, trustworthy, enthusiastic, and good at determining wants and needs of customers.

Ensures prompt opening and closing of store according to established store hours and confidentiality of store business matters and customer transactions.

Builds and maintains effective working relationships with showroom representatives, etc. Trains, supervises and manages competency and skills of employees and volunteers.

Communicates relevant policies and procedures to ensure knowledgeable and competent staff. Trains staff and volunteers in established store policies, procedures and philosophies.

Evaluates subordinates according to established career ladder, policies and procedures. Performs other related duties assigned or requested.
