JOB SUMMARY: The Richmond Neighborhood Center is looking for energetic, highly motivated and creative individuals to work as Girls Sports Coaches in our after school program at Elementary Schools in the Richmond District.
This position focuses on working with female-identifying students to encourage and build self-esteem towards sports. Our programs foster creative horizon-broadening programming. Programs feature social-emotional learning, sports fundamentals, cooking & nutrition and much more!
Each Coach must be able to work with up to 20 girls during after school hours Monday through Friday. Coaches will be working full-time (30 hours per week) with two elementary schools in the Richmond District, or may choose to work part-time (15 hours/week) with just one location.

Reports To: Assistant Program Director
Commitment: 2022-2023 School Year
Location: 1-2 Elementary Schools in Richmond District of San Francisco
Typical Hours: Monday - Friday after-school hours. Occasional weekend or evening events.
Compensation: $26-$27 per hour, based on experience.
Schedule: 30 hours per week (includes medical, dental, vision, etc.) or 15 hours per week (no additional benefits)

Job Duties: *
- Each Girls Sports League Coach will lead three cycles of sports, network and plan field trips to HS level and professional sports events, and implement social-emotional learning within lessons.
- Building relationships with all stake-holders, including but not limited to After School Program Staff, parents and family members of all participants, and school day staff.
- Provide on site support with homework and academic lessons for program participants
- Create, plan, and facilitate engaging enrichment and physical activities for students
- Support students in developing the skills they need to be successful in school and life

All staff earn sick and vacation accruals starting on the first day of employment. These are completely paid for by the org for the employee, and they are available (but not covered) for the employee's family. QUALIFICATIONS*
Experience and Characteristics
- Experience leading sports activities with youth
- For full-time staff, availability Monday through Friday during program hours approximately 12pm - 6pm, depending on the day and school
- Critical Consciousness: Able to weave equity and cultural relevance into all aspects of planned activities. Able to plan and facilitate programming intentionally. Understanding of marginalized communities. Strong advocate for youth voice and leadership.
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Must have a general knowledge base of core elementary school subjects
- Must possess strong classroom and behavioral management skills
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to communicate openly in a professional manner with students, parents, community partners, and after-school and school day-staff

Requirements for All: * All employees working with students must meet the following requirements.
- DOJ Live Scan Fingerprinting: All employees who have contact with youth under the age of 18 must be fingerprinted under procedures established by the DOJ. We cannot employ any individual who has been convicted of a serious or violent felony, as defined by the California Penal Code and CA Education Code. The organization also receives updated information from the DOJ during employment. Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records on a case by case basis.
- (We will help you meet this requirement if it is a barrier to employment.) Must meet SFUSD Instructional Aide Requirements: An Associate’s degree or higher OR Official transcripts reflecting 48 college units and a high school diploma/equivalent OR Completion of CBEST and a high school diploma/equivalent.
- TB Test: Every employee who has regular contact with youth is required to have a current tuberculin skin test or an X-ray examination of the lungs (with a negative result) prior to reporting for duty.
- Employment Authorization: Employees must be able to prove that they are authorized to work in the United States using any of the documentation allowed according to current I-9 processes.
- Covid-19 Vaccination: SFUSD requires all subcontractors to mandate Covid-19 vaccination: employees must be vaccinated or have a medical or religious exemption to initiate an accommodation and the interactive process
