Global Financial Crimes Advisory is part of Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR), within the Risk Management and Compliance organization. CCOR maintains oversight of the firm's compliance, conduct and operational risk management activities and are responsible for the design and execution of the CCOR program, which consists of the second line of defense's responsibilities in managing the firm's compliance, conduct, and operational risk. You will be joining the JPMorgan Payments GFCC Advisory team of financial crimes professionals from a diverse range of backgrounds and experience who collectively advise internal stakeholders and clients on the impact of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulatory requirements, expectations, firm wide policies and how to balance these while delivering on the Firm's priorities. You will work globally across the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) and Commercial Bank (CB) lines of business to identify and escalate AML, Know Your Customers (KYC) and sanctions-related control issues on new business strategies, and identify risks and proposed mitigation strategies through partnering with global stakeholders in the business and various compliance teams across KYC, transaction monitoring, sanctions advisory and line of business compliance.
Job responsibilities
- Act as the GFCC Global lead on line of business priorities relating to FinTech, Money Service Businesses ( MSB), Third Party Payment Processors (TP3) and Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASP) client types with coordination of strategic initiatives and carrying out the FinTech control framework
- Lead the GFCC agenda across all regions as the primary point of contact
- Provide advice and guidance to sales teams related to AML risks for FinTech and VASP customers via both formal governance channels and informal conversations
- Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for driving compliance with applicable financial crimes laws, rules, regulations, adhering to JPMorgan policies, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating, managing issues with transparency
- Foster strategic dialogue across client coverage teams on emerging opportunities and build efficiencies in new and existing processes
- Build strong working relationships with functional and line of business stakeholders globally at all levels
- Assist the broader GFCC team with new strategic business priorities as they arise
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- AML Compliance or risk and control experience and knowledge of AML and sanctions regulations
- Ability to identify emerging AML risks
- Strong organization and project management skills with an ability to execute and manage work both independently and as a team
- Experience working with individuals across businesses, regions and functional partners
- Proven communication (both written and verbal) and relationship management skills, including confidence in interactions with management and general professional maturity
- Ability to think strategically and understand complex payment flows
- Proficient in MS Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Direct experience with emerging financial crimes risks (e.g., FinTech and VASP industry)
- General understanding of the firm's products and services
