Job description
- Sets up and operates machine tools associated with fabricating shops including a radial drill press and scissor drill.
- Positions, aligns, fits, and welds together parts.
- Attaches ropes or grappling equipment to workpieces to prepare workpiece for moving by crane or jib.
- Picks up and trucks scrap from work areas.
- Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and set up requirements.
- Operates pallet jacks, forklifts, hoists, and assembly line controls.
- Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
- Read work orders or follow oral instructions to set up the Do-All Saw. Use of tape measure and small tools to set correct measurements per work order.
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, racks, and shelves by hand.
- Makes simple adjustments or repairs such as realigning belts or replacing rollers.
- Select and set cutting speeds, feed rates, depths of cuts, and cutting tools according to machining instructions or knowledge of metal properties.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 1-year relevant experience.
- Must be able to pass a math test and skills test.
- Forklift operator experience preferred.
- Ability to work well independently and as a team.
- Must be able to lift 50-75lbs regularly
