Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

The Greenhouse Specialist (Agricultural Research Technologist 2) position serves as a skilled technical specialist supporting journey-level research and investigative duties under technical direction to support studies concerning biological, chemical and physical sciences as applied to agriculture. This position is responsible for managing the Greenhouse systems, the operation of the Growth Chambers and pest control.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in the applied, biological, chemical, physical OR agricultural sciences, AND one year of experience as an Agricultural Research Technologist 1; OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements:
  • Knowledge of greenhouse environments.
  • Ability to have or obtain at the time of hire a valid, unrestricted driver's license.
  • Ability and willingness to be on call for emergencies.
  • A Washington State Public Operator pesticide applicators license is required or must be obtained within 6 months from hire date.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Research greenhouse and growth chamber experience.
  • Experience operating motor vehicles, forklift and skid steer.

Monthly Salary:

Range 40, $3,246.00 - $4,324.00 (A - M). Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
