What you’ll be doing:
- Repairs and maintains assigned grounds by carrying-out landscaping duties to include, mowing, weeding, pest control and pruning; repairs and maintains irrigation systems.
- Operates manual, electrical and gas-powered tools and equipment (i.e., lawn mower, weed-eater, blower, hedger, etc.).
- Sweeps and polices runways and taxiways. (Safety training is provided when work is conducted in active airfield environment.)
- Performs ornamental spraying with designated chemicals; complies with all EPA standards and guidelines, as needed.
- Cleans equipment with assigned cleaning supplies; maintains cleanliness and order in assigned storage rooms.
- Prepares areas for sodding; repairs public safety hazards (i.e., ground holes, loose turf).
- Performs maintenance checks on grounds equipment and vehicles; performs repairs (i.e., small engine and electric motor overhauls, fuel system replacement, wiring, welding); reports equipment malfunctions and facility maintenance needs to supervisor.
- Performs related duties as required.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Landscape or grounds maintenance experience preferred.
- Commitment to always working safely
- Starting wage of $19/hour
- Schedule is Monday through Friday
