Position Summary:
This is a seasonal position that will require working on site as needed with girls, volunteers and staff. They are Responsible for monitoring, supervising and facilitating the health and safety of campers, volunteers and staff in accordance with the standards of the State, ACA and Girl Scouts under the supervision of a licensed physician.

Essential Functions:
Administer care and monitor for illness and accidents under the supervision of a licensed physician.
Responsible for maintaining effective health and safety guidelines for the infirmary; its equipment and maintenance; standing orders; contacting doctor on call and hospital.
Responsible for making and attending an appointment with the camp physician to review and receive his/her signature on the current standing orders during pre-camp.
Responsible for checking all campers and staff health profiles before they arrive onsite.
Responsible for revising camp health procedures based upon the written standing orders.
Assist with planning and preparations for COVID-19 response
Follow all safety guidelines put in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19
Facilitate staff and camper health check upon arrival.
Collect and record only prescription medications in original containers brought to camp.
Establish and maintain regular infirmary hours, including medication times, with a note of where in camp you are located if not at the health center.
Perform weekly checks of unit and program area first aid kits to ensure proper stock and placement throughout camp.
Record treatment and medication administered to campers and staff in Campdoc.
Maintain clean bedding & towels for infirmary and launder soiled items for campers as needed.
Notify Sr. Mgr. of Outdoor Adventure & Travel when parent, physician or Urgent Care contacts are initiated and note in medical record.
Dispense medication as instructed by physician. If parents give alternate directions, confer with physician and follow physician’s directions.
Assist with opening and closing camp, including inventories.
Take precautions to ensure personal health.
Complete and submit all required paperwork and reports.
Carry out all other duties assigned

Qualifications & Education:
Minimum of 21 years of age.
Successful clearance of a Level 2 background screening and the National Sexual Offender Public Website.
Belief in the aims and purpose of the Girl Scout organization, and a willingness to subscribe to the principles expressed in the Promise and Law.
Understanding of the Girl Scout Organization, National Program Portfolio and a willingness to subscribe to the principles expressed in the Promise and Law.
Ability to communicate and provide necessary instructions to campers and staff in a group setting.
Ability to think clearly and take charge in an emergency.
Current certification as licensed registered nurse, certified paramedic, licensed physician, licensed physician’s assistant, certified EMT, certified nurse practitioner or equivalent.

Preferred:
Bi-lingual (Spanish & English)
Prior experience caring for children and adults
