Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to ensure the integrity of the electronic health record (EHR) to support the clinical data needs of our customers and patients. Incumbents in this role will be expected to perform all of the duties listed below and move between roles as needed to support the daily demand of work:1. Scanning/Indexing: Ensure that paper-based clinical documentation is accurately scanned and placed in the correct location in the EHR.
2. Release of Information: Appropriately and accurately releasing patient health information (PHI) in compliance with national and state regulations and departmental policy and procedure.
3. Customer Service: Provide outstanding service to our customers and patients via telephone, email, and in person interactions.

Qualifications
Required: High School diploma· 6 months’ experience in a health information management department or 1 years’ experience in an office setting, preferably healthcare related

Qualifications

- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, Joint Commission standards and other relevant healthcare documentation standards
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong Interpersonal skills and ability to work well with team members
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Prior experience with electronic health records (Cerner PowerChart),scanning and release of information applicationsPreferred credentials: RHIT
