Our company is seeking a highly experienced and efficient Health & Safety Manager to join our dynamic team in Hendersonville, NC. The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for creating and enforcing a culture of safety within our organization. The ideal candidate is extremely detail-oriented with organizational, and analytical skills while managing priorities, creating standards and enforcing policies.

This position is on-site and but will require some travel.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ensure the company is prepared to submit all the relevant health and safety documents when requested.
• Encourage and promote the use of safer work practices, equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Track the number of incidents and produce reports.
• Monitor exposure to certain hazardous chemicals.
• Report to Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) and other relevant organizations
• Keep abreast of industry and market trends and best practices, OSHA guidelines, EPA and other regulatory requirements.
• Inspects facilities and job sites to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
• Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
• Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
• Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and other relevant topics.
• Ensures regulatory compliance.
• Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or equivalent experience required, Master’s degree desirable.
• Five years of related experience preferred.
• Experience with industrial construction, manufacturing and safe operation of lifting equipment, cutting tools, grinders, welders, cranes, and lifts.

Physical Requirements:

• Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
• Must be able to walk stairs and long distances.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to travel 50-75%
