A Hood Technician, also known as a Lube Technician or Quick Lube Technician, is a professional responsible for performing basic maintenance services, including oil changes, at an oil change shop or automotive service center. Their primary role revolves around servicing vehicles quickly and efficiently, focusing on routine maintenance tasks. Here's an overview of the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with a Hood Technician:

Oil Changes: The primary duty of a Hood Technician is to perform oil changes on customer vehicles. This involves draining the old oil, removing and replacing the oil filter, and replenishing the engine with fresh oil according to the manufacturer's specifications. They may also check and top up other fluids such as coolant, brake fluid, and windshield washer fluid.

Filter Replacement: In addition to oil changes, Hood Technicians often replace other filters, such as the air filter and cabin air filter. These filters are crucial for maintaining clean air intake and ensuring the vehicle's HVAC system functions properly.

Fluid Checks: Hood Technicians inspect fluid levels and conditions, including transmission fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, and brake fluid. They may recommend fluid replacements if they are contaminated or depleted.

Battery Checks: They may inspect batteries for corrosion, damage, or weak charge. If necessary, they might clean terminals, perform jump-starts, or recommend battery replacements.
