Hotel Front Desk Manager
Job description
Department: Front Desk/Front Office
Reports to: Assistant Manager/Sales and/or General Manager
Location: All Areas
Scope of Duties: Directs and coordinates all activities of the front desk & guest services. Maintains accurate guest records, accounting & management reports.
Primary Tasks
- Participates in the selection of front office personnel.
- Trains, cross-trains, motivates, evaluates & maintains staffing levels.
- Trains Phone Service & Sales techniques.
- Schedules front office staff and Supervises work load.
- Maintains working relationships and communicates with all departments.
- Management of guest services.
- Yield management. Revenue forecasting.
- Priority Club management.
- Maintains master key control.
- Verifies accurate room status information is maintained & communicated.
- Resolves guest problems quickly, efficiently & courteously.
- Maintains, monitors and prepares group information & requirements. Communicates information to other departments.
- Maintains front office supplies and inventories.
- Works with-in allotted budget for the front office.
- Enforces cash handling, check cashing and credit card policies.
- Conducts regularly scheduled meetings of front office personnel.
- Maintains A/R accurately.
- Ensures all hotel policies & standards are enforced.
- Ensures all front office personnel are trained in emergency procedures.
Qualifications
Skills:
- Ability to supervise & coordinate with subordinates.
- Computer skills.
- Planning and organization.
- Oral & written skills. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand primary language used in the workplace.
- Handling of emergency situations.
- Good interpersonal skills with co-workers and guests.
- Yield Management skills
Physical:
Requires fingering, grasping, writing, standing, reaching, sitting,
walking, repetitive motions, hearing, visual activity & verbal
communications.
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent. Two year college degree desired.
Experience:
Minimum of one year of hotel front desk and/or similar position
preferred. Experience handling cash, accounting procedures, training
& general administrative tasks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.42 - $16.18 per hour
