Elites Care, LLC is a family-owned business in the Commonwealth of Virginia that provides residential services to persons with disabilities within the framework of the Human Care Agreement. We are Medicaid certified and coordinate numerous aspects of our residents’ care. The Chore Aide provides chore services and other related services in the home. She/he functions under the direction, instruction, and supervision of the chore aide supervisor or appropriate supervisor and other duties as deemed necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

Preferably a high school diploma or equivalent. Successfully completes a minimum of 8 hours of training annually, which includes an introduction to chore aide services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Take and follow orders for daily housekeeping chores based on the beneficiaries’ Plan of Care directives

2. Clean surfaces such as floors in kitchens, rooms, and hallways by performing sweeping and mopping duties

3. Mix cleaning agents and apply them on surfaces such as floors and counters and ensure that they are properly wiped down

4. Perform preventative infection control procedures through effective sanitation of all surfaces and furniture

5. Dust and polish furniture and fittings and ensured that they are properly restored according to provided instructions

6. Interact with patients, visitors and guests to determine their needs and attempt to fulfill them immediately

7. Change bedsheets and ensure that all soiled or dirty linen including towels and napkins are transported to the laundry

8. Anticipate the needs of patients and guests and provide them with information regarding EC policies and procedures

9. Empty trash baskets and clean ashtrays and ensure that appropriate trash removal activities are carried out

10. Ascertain that storage areas are properly stocked and kept clean and tidy at all times

11. Clean and shampoo rugs and carpets and ensure that all drapes are vacuumed and washed properly

12. Wash windows, walls and bathrooms and ensure that appropriate sanitation procedures are carried out.

JOB CONDITIONS

· The ability to travel extensively in a geographic area.

· Must be able to access clients' homes, which will not be routinely wheelchair accessible.

· Hearing, eyesight and physical dexterity must be sufficient to perform a physical assessment of the client’s condition and to perform and demonstrate client care.

· Physical activities may include, walking, sitting, stooping, and standing.

· Maximum to minimal lifting of clients and turning clients.

· On occasion, may be required to bend, stoop, reach and move client weight up to 250 pounds; lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds.

· Frequent writing and telephone communication.

· Must be able to hear and speak in a manner understood by most people. Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $16.00 - $16.10 per hour
