Job description
The HR Generalist is responsible for the administration and support of the full employee lifecycle. This includes, but is not limited to, preboarding/onboarding, processing employee transactions, immigration administration and support, employee relations, performance management, offboarding, and supporting the implementation of policies and procedures. The position will use Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. Additionally, the HR Generalist will act as the main point of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related topics. Our goal is to ensure the HR Ops department runs smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization.
Additionally, this position requires a high-level of customer service to the acquisition & integration of employees and leadership teams daily. The ideal candidate will be a diplomatic and empathetic individual with the ability to effectively handle difficult employee situations for acquired companies assimilating into Software AG.
Essential Job Functions
- Employee onboarding to include company and position information, coordination on start details, collect and process new hire paperwork
- Work with hiring managers and other Business Support functions to schedule employees’ orientation and onboarding
- Handle employee exits from necessary documentation and offboarding coordination to exit interviews and feedback
- Contribute actively to the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures
- Maintain employee data/files, accurately and compliantly
- Process employee transactions in our HRIS, ensuring data integrity
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives as well as cross-functional task teams and working groups
- Support and administer the processing of nonimmigrant visas and green cards
- Explain and provide advice to employees about company and governmental rules, regulations, and procedures, and need for compliance
- Create and maintain HR Ops purchase orders, handle Invoice reconciliation, and support global sourcing actions as required
- Support the VP, People (StreamSets) in resolving employee relations and work-related matters, as well as people matters, potential performance risks, and decisions in alignment with business objectives and legislation
- Other duties as assigned
M&A Job Functions
- Provide HR support for acquired companies through due diligence activities and integration
- Proactively develop partnerships with former owners and acquisition leaders
- Collaborates and communicates with HR leaders and other appropriate stakeholders to ensure execution of HR Integration Strategy
- Complete data gathering exercises and conduct benefits analysis with acquired companies
- Partner with acquisition company to transition payroll
- Owns end to end manual hiring/terminations and payroll
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements
- 4+ years of HR experience with no degree
- 2+ years of HR experience with a bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or related field
- PHR/SHRM-CP Certification preferred
Skills
- Effective oral and written communication
- Extremely detail-oriented
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills
- Ability to interpret, understand and relate complex policies and procedures
- Excellent computer skills, proficient in MS Office and Google Suite, including Excel and SharePoint
- Demonstrated skills in HRIS management and record keeping
- Desirable skills:
- Experience with Workday, ADP/Workforce Now, and Bamboo
- Experience with Mergers & Acquisitions
