ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is seeking an HR Generalist to support and grow within our Mid-Atlantic and Southeast region. The HR Generalist position may be based out of any of our Mid-Atlantic and Southeast offices. This is an exciting opportunity to work and grow within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects within our People and Culture team.


Responsibilities

  • Works in assigned regions to support employees with partnership from HR Directors
  • Advise employees and managers on basic employee relations and disciplinary matters
  • Advises employees and managers on policy interpretation
  • Assists with compensation guidance and planning for basic matters
  • Assists with compensation survey matching and reporting
  • Conducts retention & exit discussions for junior level positions
  • Manages data clean-up efforts in assigned region
  • Assists with coordinating compliance trainings
  • Coordinates employee recognition and employee experience efforts
  • Runs and distributes people metrics reports as needed
  • Coordinate with HR Admin/Benefits and HRIS teams on all employee data changes and updates in HR technology platforms
  • Serve as liaison between Benefits team and employees around leaves
  • Assists with obtaining approvals for payroll changes & referral bonus requests
  • Maintains HRIS System as it relates to employee changes
  • Other duties may be assigned

  • Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of and experience with varied HRIS systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to travel +/- 20%

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Five (5) years of human resource experience
  • Experience within the AEC industry preferred
  • Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple priorities in a highly dynamic environment and to work with flexibility, efficiency, and diplomacy both individually and as part of a team effort
  • Has general knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
