Moran Logistics, family owned and operated, is looking for an HR assistant to undertake a variety of HR administrative duties. The HR assistant will act as the liaison between HR and employees, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions. You’ll assist in creating policies, processes and documents. You should be able to work autonomously and remain calm under pressure. assist managers in the whole recruitment lifecycle (e.g. onboarding new hires and candidate sourcing). Ultimately, you’ll ensure our HR department is organized and operates smoothly to attract, hire and retain our employees.

The HR assistant helps with the implementation of services, policies, and programs aimed at maintaining a safe, positive environment in a company, as well as the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The HR assistant generally reports to an HR director and also assists company managers with HR issues.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources Director
  • Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies)
  • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc)
  • Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc) and take minutes
  • Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
  • Assist in payroll preparation
  • Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures
  • Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews
  • Conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees
  • Use HR Database to review, input and track employee information
  • Travel to Middletown and Harrisburg as needed.

Skills

  • Proven experience as an HR assistant, staff assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office and HRIS/HRMS systems
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communications skills
  • Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality
  • Must have conflict management
  • Strong decision making skills and problem solving skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
