HR Works' rapidly growing HR Strategic Services area is currently recruiting for an HR Associate to work in our Fairport, NY location. This position can be Full-time or Part-time with flexibility for a hybrid work model.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The HR Associate works collaboratively with the Supervisor, HR Strategic Services, and other members of the HRSS team to provide back-end support with managing the overall client relationship, including assisting in the HR Assessment and Handbook development processes, development of Quarterly Service Reports and annual HR Business Plan, fielding client and employee questions and escalating to the HR Strategic Partner, as needed. The HR Associate will collaborate with the HR Strategic Partner and other HR Works departments to ensure effective and efficient delivery and coordination of services. The HR Associate will receive guidance and mentorship from the Supervisor, HR Strategic Services and HR Strategic Partners and assist with other HR-related projects, as requested. Additionally, the HR Associate is responsible for answering HR Helpline calls and emails on a rotating schedule, supporting the HR Works Learning Management System (LMS) service through onboarding/training clients, developing employee handbooks, and assisting with other HR-related projects.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent grammar, writing, and proofreading skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and relay information on federal and state employment law and HR best practices in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Proven ability to apply common sense understanding to navigate difficult HR scenarios.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well cooperatively as a member of the HR Strategic Services team.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels (board members, executives, management, staff).
  • Ability to consistently maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
  • High initiative, focus on process improvement, and problem solving.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) and Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn other systems and programs (i.e., Salesforce, compensation benchmarking database, compliance research tools).
  • Excellent presentation and organization skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to travel to client locations as needed.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resource Management or a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of HR/employment law experience or an equivalent combination of related work experience, training and/or education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job is required.
  • Prior HR Helpline experience is preferred.
  • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment law compliance and HR best practices required.
