Gads Hill Center is seeking an experienced HR professional who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of low-income children to reach their full potential. The ideal candidate will bring at least eight years of human relations experience and will be well-versed in each of the human resources disciplines such as compensation, payroll and benefits, employee leave programs, whistle blower and conflict of interest policies, organizational policy compliance, training and development, employee relations, and recruitment and selection. Core competencies include solid communication skills and decision-making capabilities based on analytical tools and critical thought processes
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as primary partner and thought leader to the CEO and Gads hill leadership team to ensure people practices are in alignment with Gads Hill goals and objectives.
Create strategies and function as lead for all HR disciplines, including policy and procedure recommendation, development, documentation, and implementation.
Guide, manage, and communicate Gads Hill Centers compensation and benefits practices and procedures.
Develop strategic solutions to meet GHC workforce needs; oversee the hire to retire people experience and develop supporting processes to attract and retain great talent.
Develop and monitor people metrics to guide decision making and maintain a pulse on the people experience at Gads Hill.
Work with senior management to assist in the development of departmental succession planning strategy, including considering opportunities for employees who demonstrate aptitude and desire for upward mobility.
Serve as primary contact for staff, management, vendors and legal counsel related to employee services, benefits, counseling, grievances, discipline actions, risk mitigation and personnel related litigation.
Work with CEO and other members of senior management to develop goals, plans and performance benchmarks, and responsible for the implementation of all, to ensure a diverse workplace with equitable management and inclusive opportunities for all GHC employees and applicants.
Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees and administering the GHCs employee performance review and improvement program.
Coordinate with senior management to assist with employee training and development including leadership training and professional development seminars and workshops opportunities for staff.
Manage employee benefits programs and inform employees of benefits; study and assess benefit needs and trends; recommend benefit programs to management; obtain and evaluate benefit contract bids
Ensure a positive work environment that is safe, fulfilling, respectful, free from discrimination and harassment, and promotes overall well-being.
Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements.
Required Education and Experience
Minimum of 8 years of related human resources experience, with at least 3 years in a human resources leadership position, preferably in a nonprofit or association environment.
Experience developing and leading organization wide diversity, equity and inclusion strategy.
Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university in a related discipline.
PHR Certification preferred

Solid knowledge of employment labor laws.
Bilingual, English/Spanish, a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications, including Excel modeling skills as related to salary and benefit costs.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting located in Pilsen.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to operate a computer and other office equipment.
Position Type and Expected Hours
This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during normal office hours. Occasionally, the employee will work longer hours.
