DeKalb Community Service Board (CSB) is an innovative, community-based behavioral health and developmental disabilities services organization located in metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia, offering a full range of mental health services, developmental disabilities programs and substance abuse treatment to more than 11,000 citizens annually who are uninsured and underinsured. HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST DEKALB CSB - WINN WAY The Human Resource Generalist will be responsible for performing a variety of human resources services in support of meeting the agency’s mission, vision and values. The HR Generalist will assist with running the daily functions of HR and Staff Development to include processing new hires, facilitating orientation, benefits, policy development/maintenance and other human resource functions as needed.
HR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES • Performs Routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits, worker compensation, family medical leave act, performance reviews, training and development. • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. • Assist with employee recognition programs. • Performs other duties as assigned.
INTER-RELATIONSHIPS: Must demonstrate teamwork, organizational commitment as well as exceptional customer service to staff, co-workers, internal and external customers. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: May be required to lift boxes or carry files (no more than 20lbs) May have to travel to other DeKalb CSB sites if needed. NEEDED ATTRIBUTES: Professional, solution oriented, critical thinker with the ability to multi-tasks and provided a high level of customer service.
