Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Watson Advertising (IWA) Associate Account Managers are responsible for working with the Account Managers and the Sales team to support our premium advertising partners across our suite of Media, Data and Technology products. This position will report to a Sr. Manager of Account Management and will be based in New York City or Atlanta.

In this role, you will be working with the Sales, Operations, Finance, Legal and other internal business partners to ensure our advertiser’s campaigns launch on-time and deliver in-full. Further, our Associate Account Managers are focused on maximizing value for our partners through optimizations, while also looking for opportunities to drive incremental revenue via data-backed upsell proposals.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Work with the AM’s to develop media plans in coordination with IWA pricing and inventory team for both Account Exec pitches and proactive incremental opportunities (with goal to close).
  • Gather company data, research and marketing information for client presentations and RFPs; build out media proposals with goal to close business
  • Cultivate internal relationships with sales support teams
  • Ensure post-sale detail is accounted for and smoothly executed
  • Consistently strive to increase your knowledge of the industry and strengthen your skill-set
  • Provide screenshots and ad-hoc reporting for advertising partners upon request.
  • Partner with other members of the Sales team to provide tactical support for our clients
  • Provide support for resolving advertisers’ contracts and billing issues in a timely manner
  • Supports Account Managers with the day-to-day processes to optimize advertising campaigns by providing:
    • Reports on advertiser performance and pacing
    • Proactive optimization suggestions and outlines for clients
    • Wrap-ups for smaller budget campaigns
    • Keyword build-out lists
  • Partners with our Sales Ad Operations team to resolve client issues
  • Provides research and case studies for sales presentations when needed
  • Supports the team in day-to-day tasks and special ad hoc projects

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • At least 1 year experience in a customer facing role in sales, consulting, or similar
  • Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated team collaboration and navigating different communication styles.
  • Readiness to independently travel to local IBM clients and meetings – 10% to 20%

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • 2+ year experience in a customer facing role in sales or consulting
  • An advanced level of attention to detail
