Job description

1. Performs electrical repairs as needed (training provided by employer).

2. Oversee and participates in maintenance duties required on down days.

3. May operate mobile equipment.

4. Repairs/replaces wear items as required.

5. Replace electric motors.

6. Communicates/directs co-workers through hand signals and two-way radio.

7. Performs data entry on all services performed.

8. Performs minor welding, repair and fabrication.

9. Cleans and stocks break room as needed.

Physical Requirements:

§ Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance,

bend from trunk, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects.

§ Lift objects of various dimensions and weights.

§ Ability to operate hand controls with both hands.

§ Ability to operate foot pedals with both feet.

§ Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching on occasional basis.

§ Ability to tolerate extreme ambient temperatures ranging from 0° F to 130° F.

§ Ability to tolerate working in cramped quarters and at heights.

§ Ability to tolerate swing shift work schedule.

§ Ability to tolerate working in areas where noise levels can reach 120 decibels.

§ Successfully complete a pulmonary function test and demonstrate the ability to use a respirator.

Vision: Normal correctable vision

Personal Protective Equipment:

Required: Hard hat with chin strap, metatarsal steel toe boots, hearing protection, protective glasses, gloves, flame

retardant clothing. Filtering face piece available during certain conditions. Fall protection required for

tasks performed at heights 4 feet and above.

Job Specific tasks:

Categories: Rare=1-10%, Occasional=11-33%, Frequent=34-66%, Constant= 67-100% of time

1. Climb flights of stairs- range from 50-100 steps. Each step is 8-11 inches high. -Frequent

2. Climb ladders-both side ladders and step ladders. Each rung is 12 inches apart and range from 6 to 20 rungs. Requires use of both hands. –Occasional

3. Walk up a 22 degree incline a distance of 25 feet. –Occasional

4. Alternate from crouching, squatting, kneeling and sitting in drum to inspect and repair equipment/machinery for up to 60 minutes at a time. -Occasional

5. Stand and balance on pipes/rails while utilizing wrenches and other tools to repair/tighten parts. Heights vary from 1 foot off ground/platform to 20 feet. Safety harness required when standing/balancing on rails above 6 feet off the ground/platform. -Occasional

6. Carry 25 lb. tool bag over shoulder distances from 50 feet to 300 feet depending on location of service call. -Frequent

7. Lift and carry materials/tools/parts up 25-50 steps a distance of 50-300 feet. Items may weigh from 50 lbs. -Occasional

8. Individually demonstrate the ability to lift 50 lbs. (Mechanical aids are available for lifting objects that weigh more than 50 lbs.). -Occasional

9. Sit and operate mobile equipment for up to 2 hours. Ability to use both feet for pedals and both hands to operate controls. -Occasional

10. Must be able to visually identify objects within 180° from left to right and demonstrate the ability to identify objects 45° above and 70° below neutral head position. Must be able to accomplish this within normal reaction time. -Frequent

11. Visually monitor control panels/monitors and warning lights. Requires normal (correctable) vision,-

· High school degree or equivalent.

· Ability to teach.

Pay: $32.69 - $38.21 per hour
