Education and Experience: -Bachelors Degree Preferred-Experience implementing behavioral, social, and emotional strategies/skills w/ students-Fingerprints and CORI required-Teaching certificate preferred Key Competencies: -Strong technology skills.-Ability to build working relationships with students to help them organize materials and complete assignments.-Dynamic person who responds to student needs positively. -Implements behavior management programs designed by teachers and/or school psychologist/counselors. Counts and records specific student behaviors; administers procedures in the positive behavior support plan. -Assists students in special education and general education classes.Assists in preparation of materials for class, classroom activities, and assignments.-Monitors students during assigned periods for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment and providing academic support.-Serves as a source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher. -Reports student concerns directly and expeditiously to teachers and assists with student resolution.-Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected in the classroom teachers. -Meets regularly with classroom teachers to plan around curriculum and student needs.
