As an Instructional Designer at Vivid Seats, you will look to support and execute a new vision for how we design employee learning. Your vision is just as innovative as ours. As an Instructional Designer, you have a keen sense for how to effectively package learning for all talents and the technical skills to bring that learning experience to life in an engaging setting.
How your role contributes to the success of Vivid Seats:
- Through a close partnership with outsourced experts and internal stakeholders across all levels and functions of the business, you will channel your knowledge of learning theory trends, creating impactful learning that thinks ahead of business needs.
- Designing learning that elevates the team beginning with an in-depth needs assessment or gap analysis.
- Assess and improve the delivery and success of each learning experience while working across a variety of learning platforms such as instructor-led training (ILT), eLearning, blended learning, video learning, online job aids and other innovative performance enhancement and knowledge transfer methods.
- Provide feedback and makes recommendations regarding the procedures and practices appropriate to improving learning.
- Partner with other L&D Specialists to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) during the development and maintenance of course content.
How your role expectations will progress as Instructional Designer in the first 30, 90, and 180 days:
30 days in
- Complete new hire orientation, gaining the resources you need to be successful.
- Learn how ticket marketplaces operate and how you’ll contribute to providing great experiences for our customers.
- Acclimate to team and company norms, business objectives, and Vivid Seats values.
- Shadow and observe current training curriculum to learn classroom structure and content.
- Become knowledgeable in all learning material.
90 days in
- Contribute to our approaches, methods, and/or technologies to support overall business goals and drive team efficiencies.
- Maintain, harvest and aid internal and external relationships to achieve progress and advance objectives.
- Exhibit expert level understanding of all learning material.
180 days in
- Design and implement process improvements that positively impact the team.
- Play an active role in continued learnings to advance skill sets and performance necessary for team goals.
- Identify gaps and opportunities within new hire classroom course sessions.
- Provide recommendations and input to Learning and Development team and internal stakeholders on best practices.
- Drive process improvements on content and overall learning methodologies.
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong knowledge and experience of rapid design and development tools (Articulate Storyline, Captivate) and other eLearning authoring software
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS)
- Deep understanding of design and development principles, best practices and how they vary depending on the delivery method
- Ability to write effective instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
- Ability to design and develop effective eLearning based on sound instructional design principles.
- Manage multiple ongoing projects establishing project priority, milestones, scope, goal deliverables, resources, timing, etc.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills across all levels and functions of the business
- Innovative thinking, action-oriented mindset and a high-level of adaptability
- Must be knowledgeable about learning concepts and theories and be able to apply them effectively in the classroom and virtual environments.
- Ability to meet with the learning client post-course to discuss recommendations for follow-up activities to reinforce learning.
