Job Summary:
Primary Duties:
1. Submits daily claims to payers electronically or via paper within the deadlines established by the department based on payer assignments.
2. Works and edits claims in the claims software system to produce clean claims within approved procedures and guidelines established by management.
3. Works and edits claims directly in the billing system for claims submission if applicable by following approved procedures and guidelines established by management.
4. Completes daily processing of returned claims.
5. Prepares and monitors additional payer requests relating to claims submission.
6. Processes and completes failed claim rejection report.
7. Transmits/releases claims to payers.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
License, Certification, Education or Experience:
REQUIRED for the position:
PM21
- Responsible for the completion and submission of all inpatient and outpatient insurance claim billings and claims adjustments for EvergreenHealth as assigned to PFS department.

Minimum Qualifications:
License, Certification, Education or Experience:
REQUIRED for the position:
- High school graduate, or equivalent
- Knowledgeable in billing requirements, regulations and medical terminology
- Knowledge of payer contracts and timely filing requirements of assigned payers
- Typing of 50 wpm
- Vocational training or college degree in medical assisting, billing or business
- Healthcare related insurance billing or insurance follow up experience
- Knowledge of hospital billing forms
