The Interpersonal Violence Prevention and Response Specialist will provide advocacy, training, educational programming, and campus-wide outreach to raise awareness about sexual harassment, sexual assault, physical assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, and bias incidents. This position will focus on prevention, intervention, and coordination of care for those affected by violent crimes and harassment. The Specialist will collaborate with various campus and community-based constituencies to provide effective and efficient programming efforts. This individual will also perform environmental and outcome assessments and maintain and compile data relevant to campus compliance with federal regulations. The Specialist will work closely with the Counseling Center and other campus health promotion professionals to develop and implement a holistic strategic plan supporting the health and wellness of Pace Pleasantville students. S/he will also provide service to the department and campus community through training and participation in crisis response, contribution to committees, and support of Division activities.

Position Duties
1. Develop and implement sexual assault/relationship violence prevention and bystander intervention programs for undergraduate, graduate, and professional student populations.
2. Develop and implement a multifaceted sexual assault/relationship violence prevention curriculum.
3. Develop and implement collaborative programming with the Counseling Center, Community Standards & Compliance, Residential Life, and Student Development and Campus Activities.
4. Develop and sustain a resource and referral network for individuals needing assistance around experiencing sexual assault/relationship violence.
5. In partnership with Title IX Coordinator, develop and implement an advocacy protocol, working with Title IX Coordinator, including providing support for victims navigating campus discipline processes.
6. Provide case management and referrals for survivors of sexual assault/relationship violence in need of community resources.
7. Collaborate with campus partners in the development and delivery of training for faculty, staff, and student employees in supporting survivors of sexual assault/relationship violence.
8. Collaborate with University-wide efforts to provide sexual assault awareness and prevention education to faculty and staff.
9. Train and implement a peer educator program.
10. Coordinate programming with various campus constituencies to effectively reach all students; engage targeted populations in education and awareness activities including the Step Up program (Admissions, First Year Programs, Law School, Graduate School, resident assistants, and student leaders).
11. Evaluate and assess campus needs related to sexual assault prevention and program efficacy through HEDS Sexual Assault Campus Climate Survey.
12. Identify and evaluate learning outcomes for each educational program.
13. Maintain data relevant to compliance with federal legislation related to sexual assault education, prevention, and response and provide a summary to University compliance officers.
14. Engage in professional development and continuing education.
15. Serve on department, division, and university committees and attend cross-functional staff meetings.
16. Perform other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Position Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in higher education, mental health counseling, social work, student affairs, and or a related field preferred.

Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience in several of the following areas:
  • Provision of direct service to individuals that have been impacted by sexual assault and relationship violence
  • Working with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Delivery of successful educational outreach and programs
  • Program evaluation
  • Addressing public health issues in order to impact the culture of a community Required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Knowledge of the:
  • principles of primary prevention work in sexual assault and relationship violence
  • psychological impact of trauma and implications for advocacy
  • prevention research and best practices related to the college campus setting
  • federal and state legislation related to sexual assault and relationship violence prevention and response
Demonstrated skills in:
  • Organization
  • Oral and written communication
  • Collaboration and consensus-building
  • Cross-cultural professional competencies
  • Additional skills required include:
  • Strong work ethic and team-oriented.
  • Experience in a university setting preferred.

Work Hours
Monday-Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM with additional hours as needed.
