- Supports certified instructional personnel with presentation of learning materials.
- Provides instructional support to students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow up learning activity.
- Keeps daily logs for every student and monitors daily attendance of identified students.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community.
- Other duties may be assigned as allowable by Section 31a At-Risk regulations.
- Completed at least two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education.
- Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or
- Met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment
- knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics; or
- knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate.

PAY RATE: Per Master Contract – Step 1 $14.63
May earn an additional .25 cents / hour premium with an associate’s degree or higher education or passage of the MTTC (or equivalent) test in reading, writing, and math
HOURS OF WORK: 8:15-3:55 Monday-Friday (approximate) for all school days in session for the 2023-24 School year
STARTING DATE: Augusts 21, 2023 plus additional PD days the week prior to the start of school

Summary:
Works under the supervision of a certified teacher to support instruction in core content area – reading, writing, science, social studies and math to identified 31a At-Risk qualified students.

Education and/or Experience

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend text at the college level. Ability to write clearly and accurately. Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to student, parents, and/or staff.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instruction. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to operate typewriter, photocopying machines and computers. Ability to assume responsibility for supervising students, understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
