Job description
Provides hardware/software troubleshooting and technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students. Consults with departmental users and assists them in the diagnosis and resolution of problems in hardware, software, networks, and data communications. Understanding of Windows PC, Mac and Chrome operating systems in order to troubleshoot mac, chrome and mobile devices for student, faculty, staff. Determine the technology needs of external entities meeting in the facility, such as if they are using their own computers or MOVC computers, if they need WI-FI access (this could result in setting up many individual WI-FI accounts depending on the group size). Assists faculty, staff and students in installing and using the standard support portable computer and desktop workstation operating systems and applications. Installation of PCs, TVs, Projectors, cameras, microphones, wall mounts, ceiling mounts, speakers and keeping inventory of all equipment. Ability to direct students and faculty to the appropriate resource through problem solving. Listen and relay concerns to the appropriate staff. Monitors and responds to security and emergency systems, cameras, fire alarms. Is the only point of contact after office business hours. This person is responsible for securing the building after classes.
This position is housed in Point Pleasant, WV, on the Mid-Ohio Valley Campus.
